Barbara Heck

BARBARA(Heck) born 1734 in the town of Ballingrane (Republic of Ireland) and daughter of Bastian Ruckle Margaret Embury. 1734 Ballingrane (Republic of Ireland), daughter of Bastian (Sebastian) Ruckle and Margaret Embury m. 1760 Paul Heck in Ireland and they had seven children of which four lived to adulthood and died. 17 Aug. 1804 Augusta Township Upper Canada.

Most of the time it is the case that the person has been involved at important occasions and shared unique ideas or thoughts which were recorded on paper. Barbara Heck however left no notes or letters, and there is no evidence to support such claims in relation to when she got married is secondary. There is no primary source that can be utilized to determine Barbara Heck's motives or the actions she took during her life. She is still a very significant figure at the start of Methodism. The job of a biographer is to explain and account for the story and describe if possible the real person who lies within it.

Abel Stevens, a Methodist historian wrote this in 1866. Barbara Heck's name has now been firmly placed first in the list of women who have contributed significantly to the life of the church in New World history. This has been due to the growth of Methodism within the United States. The magnitude of her record will be largely due to the setting of her valuable name based on the past of the famous causes with which her legacy is forever identified more than in the story of her personal life. Barbara Heck's role with the early days of Methodism was a fortunate coincidence. Her popularity is due to her involvement in a popular organization or group will glorify their origins, so that they can maintain connections with the past and remain rooted.
